Yost services

? Services for Michael Leon “Mickey” Yost, 60, Milford, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Perry American Legion Building. Inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.

Mr. Yost died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka from a heart attack.

He was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Richmond, Calif., the son of William Louis and Hazel Marie (Martin) Yost. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1960. He lived in Junction City for 18 years before moving to Milford in 2001.

Mr. Yost was general manager of Meier’s Ready Mix Plant in Junction City for 19 years. He had owned and operated Topeka Raceway in Topeka for five years and was co-owner with his brother of Miami Tavern in Topeka for several years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He married Grace Irene Hay on Oct. 23, 1965. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Perry; two brothers, Robert, Topeka, and Jim, Emporia; and five sisters, Bonnie Blalock, Judy Hodges, both of Manteca, Calif., Jeannie Miles, Tracy, Calif., Vickey Longstaff, Topeka, and Dianna Bowlin, Perry.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
