Edgar A. Hull

Mr. Hull died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at his home.

He was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Ottawa, the son of Elmer Andrew and Esther Estella (Gilliland) Hull. He attended Ottawa schools, graduating in 1939.

He worked for Bennett Creamery for a year and a half until World War II, when he served in the Army Air Corps. He received the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, World War II Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.

He was later recalled during the Korean War for a few months.

After the war he was a farmer and stockman in the Ottawa area. He also had dog kennels where he raised 19 breeds. He retired in 1991.

He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ottawa. He also served on the Franklin County Aging Society, American Paint Horse Assn., American Quarter Horse Assn., American Kennel Club and the Hampshire Swine Assn. He was appointed by the governor to serve on the Animal Health Board in the early 1970s.

He married Lorraine Hayden on Sept. 18, 1950, in Ottawa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two brothers, Bob, Ottawa, and Charles, Modesto, Calif.; and a sister, Naomi Miller, Russell.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
