Investigations by Lawrence Police last week led to the recovery of more than 30 pounds of marijuana, plus cash, drug paraphernalia and documents.

No one was arrested but investigations are continuing, police Sgt. Mike Pattrick said.

The marijuana has a street value of about $38,000, according to a police report. Police could not say how the haul stacked up against earlier busts.

About 8:40 p.m. Friday, police acted on a tip and began following a Toyota sport utility vehicle, Pattrick said. When the vehicle stopped in the 2200 block of Waterford Avenue, police talked with the 25-year-old man who had been driving, Pattrick said.

That’s when officers found and confiscated the marijuana.

Earlier Friday evening, police arrested a 23-year-old Lawrence man for possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers obtained a warrant and searched the man’s residence in the 1400 block of Davis Road. Police seized $1,800 in cash but declined to say what else they found.

The suspect was released from the Douglas County Jail on $1,000 bond. He is to appear Jan. 23 in Douglas County District Court for possible charges.

About 5:40 p.m. Saturday, police armed with a search warrant recovered drug paraphernalia that included scales at a residence in the 1900 block of Tennessee Street. They also confiscated ledgers and other documents, a report said. No one was arrested.

Pattrick declined to say if the three drug investigations were related.
