Loveland to run for fifth term on Lawrence’s school board

Mary Loveland, who has been on Lawrence’s school board for 16 years, said Wednesday she has filed to run for another four-year term.

Loveland is the third candidate and the second incumbent to run for re-election.

Scott Morgan, current school board president, and Cindy Yulich, a Lawrence bank executive, are both in the race.

The other two incumbents, who have not yet let their plans be known, are Jack Davidson and Sue Morgan.

Four seats on the seven-person board will be decided April 1. A $59 million school bond question also will be on that ballot.

The filing deadline for candidates is Jan. 21. If more than six candidates file, a primary election would be Feb. 25.
