Edmonds leads McLouth past Kansas City Christian

? Despite being double-teamed most of the night by Kansas City Christian defenders, McLouth’s Courtney Edmonds, the school’s all-time leading scorer, had 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ 50-37 win on Tuesday.

McLouth (3-4) jumped out to a 16-10 first-quarter lead and never trailed.

Emily Nietzsche added 12 points for McLouth.

DeSoto — The Wildcats got 11 points from junior Allie Heinen in their win against Tonganoxie. DeSoto (4-1) outscored the Chieftains 12-4 in the second quarter, then matched them the rest of the way.

Jennifer Reischman had 10 points to lead Tonganoxie (4-3). It was the first game since the holiday break for both teams.

Melisa Ball scored 17 points and had eight rebounds in leading the Chargers (6-0) past the Bobcats (4-2). Lindsey Boss added nine points, while Alexis Pryor had four points and eight rebounds.

SFT, No. 4 in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Assn. poll, will play host to Perry-Lecompton on Friday.
