Daniel Evans Miller

Services for Daniel Evans Miller, 29, Gardner, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lawrence Free Methodist Church. Private burial will be later.

Mr. Miller died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Douglas County.

He was born Aug. 2, 1973, in Gardner, the son of Richard E. and Sharon (Mosher) Miller. He graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Kansas University.

Mr. Miller had worked for the past six years with Penny’s Concrete in Shawnee. He also owned Hydro Seeding Solutions, a lawn-seeding service for residential customers. He had been a police officer in Olathe and served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He attended Heartland Community Church in Overland Park.

Survivors include his fiancee, Tara Flory, Lawrence; his father, Victor, Idaho; his paternal grandmother, Margery Miller, Chicago; and a sister, Trudy Vaupel, Salina.

The family suggests memorials to a scholarship fund in his name at Gardner-Edgerton High School, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
