Burglaries and thefts reported

  • More than $8,000 in equipment is missing from Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to a police report.

Someone took a video projector worth $4,000, a laptop computer worth $4,000 and a digital camera worth $300 from an education office at the hospital, according to the report.

It happened sometime Sunday. Employees said they saw two men who don’t work at the hospital in the area of the theft, and police are investigating pry marks on the door of the office, said Sgt. Mike Pattrick, a Lawrence Police spokesman.

Injury accidents

  • A 37-year-old Lawrence woman was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a two-car collision Monday at Ninth and Tennessee streets.

Tawnya L. Miller was driving a van east on Ninth Street when a Ford pickup truck driven by Sandra K. Bryant, 36, Lawrence, ran a red light on southbound Tennessee Street and struck her, according to a police report.
