Goodyear services

— Graveside services for Georgetta Mary Goodyear, 86, Overbrook, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Overbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Goodyear died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at a Topeka nursing home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1916, in the Twin Mound area of Douglas County, the daughter of George and Dora Elizabeth (Cox) Sullivan. She attended Twin Mound Grade School and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence in 1935 and later from Dodds Business School in Topeka.

Mrs. Goodyear was a supervisor for the Kansas Department of Revenue for 21 years and later worked at Overbrook Livestock Sales Barn for 16 years.

She married James E. Goodyear on Oct. 16, 1937, in Tonganoxie. He died Nov. 8, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Goodyear Jr., Carbondale, and H. R. "Shorty" Goodyear, Lyndon; two daughters, Jane E. Anderson and M. Susan Marshall, both of Overbrook; a companion, Robert Cummings, Overbrook; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home in Overbrook, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
