Actor tells story to Barbara Walters

? In his first jailhouse interview, accused murderer Robert Blake insists he is an innocent man.

The former “Baretta” star — in an exclusive talk with Barbara Walters Wednesday night on ABC’s “20/20” — says he did not kill his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, and believes God will make sure he is cleared.

“I’m not going to be found guilty,” he tells Walters. “Why? It’s real simple. Because God has never, ever deserted me. Can’t say I haven’t deserted Him from time to time.”

The 69-year-old Blake adds that he doesn’t fear spending the rest of his life behind bars.

“What do I care?” he says. “How do you kill a dead man? They the police took away my entire past. They took away my entire future. What’s left for them to take?”

Blake also speculated about who he believes is responsible for Bakley’s murder.

“In my heart I believe that some man, 10, 15, maybe 20 years ago, because she used to get married to them — I think she destroyed a lot of lives. And I think one life that she destroyed saw her on television,” he said.
