KU unclassified nonfaculty representatives to meet with state lawmakers

Kansas lawmakers will hear about the important contributions being made by nonfaculty unclassified employees Tuesday in Topeka.

About two dozen representatives of Kansas University’s 1,700 state unclassified employees will travel to the state Capitol to meet with state legislators.

The employees, members of the Unclassified Professional Staff Assn., also will also discuss higher education funding and will encourage legislators to support Kansas Board of Regents proposals.

Those proposals include no additional cuts, a 6 percent block grant increase, full funding of Senate Bill 345 and implementation of regulatory reform.
