National health official set to speak at KU

A high-ranking official with the National Institutes of Health will speak Thursday at Kansas University.

Stephen Rosenfeld, director of clinical medical informatics, will present “Informatics in Medicine and Clinical Research: Automation and Innovation” as part of KU’s Interdisciplinary Informatics Seminar Series.

The speech is planned for 4 p.m. in the Kansas Room of the Kansas Union.

Rosenfeld’s expertise centers on the use of information technology to support biomedical research and clinical care and the management of information technology projects in health care.

The speech is sponsored by the KU Division of Biological Sciences, the Department of Molecular Biology and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

KU ROTC cadet selected for internship program

An Army ROTC cadet at Kansas University is one of two cadets selected for the Army Science Board Internship Program.

Adam Tritsch, a junior from Topeka, was selected for an internship with the ASB, which is the senior scientific advisory body for the Army.

Tritsch traveled to Crystal City, Va., for a session Jan. 21-23. This summer, he’ll attend the ROTC National Advanced Leadership Camp in Fort Lewis, Wash., work two weeks with ASB staff members in Irvine, Calif., researching and writing reports and spending two weeks in Washington, D.C.
