Nieder-Miller

Sarah Anne Nieder and Brian James Miller, both of Lawrence, were married Dec. 28, 2002, at Plymouth Congregational Church, Lawrence, with the Revs. Karen and Alan Selig officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dean and Martha Nieder, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jim Miller and Pamela Hardie, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Laura Lewis. Best man was Mark Pringle. Bridesmaids were Jillian Anderson, Marla Johnson, Izabela Grusznis and Kerry Wayne. Groomsmen were Lt. JJ Pinter, Mike Miller, Lt. Jason Wayne and Paul Neuberger. Ushers were Lt. Matt Williams and Lt. Andrew Wild. Candle lighters were Rachael Hazzard and Paige Hazzard. Flower girls were Eleanor Dunlap and Amelia Dunlap. Readers were Lt. Andrew Wild, Margo Hardie and Julian Munoz. Musicians were Helen Hawley, organist; Tim Leopold, trumpet; and Chris Peterson, violin. The guest book attendant was Susan Robshaw. Program attendants were Leslie Miller and Karen Ross. Shannon Pringle was the bride’s personal attendant.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at Liberty Hall. Pat and Mary Ross, Margo Hardie, Julian Munoz and Cathy and Larry Dunlap served as reception hosts. Cake attendants were Margo Smith, June Thome, Peggy Vausbinder and Donna Peterson.

The bride is a 1998 Lawrence High School graduate. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kansas State University in 2002. She teaches in the Hawaii public schools.

The groom is a 1997 Lawrence High School graduate. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 2001 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He serves as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

The couple reside in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

Patterson-Smith

Antoinette Patterson and Tristan Smith, both of Lawrence, were married Oct. 19, 2002, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Mo., with John Nixon officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Gary Patterson, Des Moines, Iowa, and Cindy Ray, Leon, Iowa. The groom is the son of Gregory and Victoria Smith, Kansas City, Mo.

Maid of honor was Amy Cameron. Best man was Erik Searcy.

A reception followed the ceremony at the church.

The bride is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1998 graduate of Kansas University. She is a copy editor for university relations at KU.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Winnetonka High School, North Kansas City, Mo. He attends Johnson County Community College. He is an administrative assistant at KU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The couple reside in Lawrence.
