Women’s Golf: Jayhawks second at Aztec

? Kansas University’s women’s golf team finished second after Tuesday’s final round of the 15-team Aztec Invitational.

The Jayhawks shot a final-round score of 309 and finished with 613 total on the 5,885-yard, par-72 Lake San Marcos Country Club.

“We had a pretty good time in today’s final round,” KU coach Megan Menzel said. “I am very excited for all them to have this type of finish in our first tournament.”

Junior Jennifer Bawanan had the best time, shooting a two-round total of 148 and finishing in first place individually. Senior Heather Rose was tied for fifth at 152.

Texas Tech won the team title at 609.

The Jayhawks travel Feb. 28-March 2 to Pinehurst, N.C., for the Edwin Watts/Carolinas Classic.
