Funderburke activated, Cleaves shelved by Kings

Sacramento, Calif. — Lawrence Funderburke was activated from the Sacramento Kings’ injured list on Saturday after missing 10 games because of foot injuries.

The Kings also put point guard Mateen Cleaves on the injured list because of tendinitis in his left quadriceps.

Funderburke, a backup forward, missed 10 games because of two foot injuries. He averaged 3.0 points per game in 21 appearances this season.

The Kings have missed more man-games to injury than any team in the NBA except Toronto. Bobby Jackson returned to action on Friday night after missing 21 games because of a broken hand, but leading scorer Chris Webber (sprained ankle) and Scot Pollard (broken hand) are still out.

Haston replaces Drew on Hornets’ roster

New Orleans — The New Orleans Hornets placed guard Bryce Drew on the injured list Saturday because of a strained right calf, and activated forward Kirk Haston.

Haston missed 28 games after being placed on the injured list Dec. 16 because of back spasms. He averaged less than a point in seven games.

Drew averaged 1.5 points in 13 games with the Hornets this season. He has missed 30 games because of injury — 18 because of a fracture in the orbital wall of his left eye and 12 with an inflamed left foot.
