Humane Society seeks donations, adoptions

The Lawrence Humane Society is asking people to open their hearts to animals this Valentine’s Day.

The agency needs pet food — especially puppy food — and people who can provide good homes for animals, executive director Midge Grinstead said.

“If you want to come home and have somebody just love you and lick your face and be glad to see you, come here for the love of your life,” she said.

Grinstead doesn’t recommend giving animals as gifts.

People interested in helping can call the Humane Society at 843-6369.

About 70 percent of KU graduates passed the test. The top public school was the University of Arkansas with 77 percent.

About 23 percent of KU graduates passed the test the first time. Arkansas again was the top school with 35 percent.
