Tilford services
Memorial services for Sylvia Lea Tilford, 86, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Pauls Valley, Okla. Private inurnment will be in Foster Cemetery in Foster, Okla.
Mrs. Tilford died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was cremated.
She was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Garvin County Okla., the daughter of Harrison H. and Ida Caldonia (Kelly) Fitzgerald. She moved in 1946 to Hastings, Okla., and in 1962 to Anadarko, Okla.
Mrs. Tilford was an elementary school teacher in Anadarko public schools for 15 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Anadarko.
She married Hubert M. Tilford on June 16, 1934, in Pernell, Okla. He died in January 1962.
Survivors include two sons, Lewis R. Tilford, Lawrence, and Stephen M. Tilford, Newport Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Carol J. Bland and Janey S. Green, both of Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in a reception after services at the church.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment for the cardiac unit, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
