Evelyn Gunselman

? Memorial services for Evelyn Gunselman, 104, Oskaloosa, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Private graveside services will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Gunselman died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 28, 1898, in Wakefield, the daughter of Joseph and Ellen (Mellor) Seal. She moved from Blue Rapids to Oskaloosa in March 1944.

Mrs. Gunselman was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She was a member of Lone Tree Homemaker’s Club and Oskaloosa United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and member of United Methodist Women.

She married Lawrence G. Gunselman on Aug. 6, 1919, in Wakefield. He died July 10, 1977.

Survivors include a son, Lowell Gunselman, Keizer, Ore.; two daughters, Shirley Kapitan-Specht, Blue Rapids, and Jocelyn Poet, Longmont, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Gene S. Gunselman, died earlier.

Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
