Area Girls: Lansing levels Perry-Lecompton

? Perry-Lecompton girls basketball coach Kevin Bost didn’t mince words about what he thought of Tuesday’s game against Lansing.

“We stunk,” Bost said after the Kaws’ 62-37 loss.

Shots didn’t fall. Passes went awry. And rebounds seemed nonexistent, he said.

“A pretty disappointing game tonight,” Bost said. “We didn’t play well, all the way around.”

After winning four of its last five games, Perry-Lecompton dropped to 4-9 against a team that had done its homework.

“They had us scouted,” Bost said of Lansing, which improved to 5-7.

It was a step backward, he said, but also a chance to learn and prepare for an upcoming home game Friday against Leavenworth Immaculata.
