Burglaries and thefts reported
- A $1,200 laptop disappeared Saturday night from an apartment in the 1700 block of West 24th Street, a 28-year-old man who lives there told police. There was no forced entry during the incident, which happened sometime between 9 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.
- A 36-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man reported his Oldsmobile and a Nintendo X-Box missing. The incident happened between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Sixth Street, according to a report. The car was worth $1,300, and the video-game system worth $250.
- According to a police report, someone took 69 wood pallets valued at $1,185 from Kmart, 3106 Iowa. It happened between 3 p.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday, according to the report.
- Someone took welders, power tools and a saddle worth a combined $2,300 from a 48-year-old man’s workshop in the 1800 section of East 300 Road. It happened sometime between Jan. 22 and Sunday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
- Someone took two saddles worth $500 apiece from an outbuilding in the 1200 section of North 1000 Road. It happened between 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
Injury accidents
- A 20-year-old Lawrence man suffered injuries Friday night when he ran a red light and hit another car, according to a police report.
John Ray Fletcher was driving east on Ninth Street in a 1991 Chevrolet and ran a red light at Vermont Street, according to the report. He struck a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Charles A. Ross, 22, of Lawrence.
The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m. Fletcher’s injuries weren’t serious enough to require a trip to the hospital, according to the report.
