KU to honor astronauts with moment of silence

Kansas University will pay tribute to the seven astronauts killed on the space shuttle Columbia with a moment of silence at noon today.

KU’s Lawrence and Kansas City, Kan., campuses and the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park will participate.

In Lawrence, the silence will be followed by a brief music program on the Campanile’s carillon.

Flags on campus will continue to fly at half-staff. Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on Saturday ordered flags at all state facilities to be flown at half-staff.
