Buchheim services

Topeka ? Services for Clara O. Buchheim, 99, Topeka, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mrs. Buchheim died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka.

She was born Nov. 21, 1903, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Fred Carl and Emma (Eckhardt) Spahn. She graduated from Oklahoma City High School and then entered business college. She was formerly of Lawrence.

Mrs. Buchheim served for more than two years in the U.S. Army during World War II, in Manila and the Philippines. She was a staff sergeant for the postal service and retired from Sears in Glendale, Calif., in 1966. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Topeka and AARP.

She married William C. Buchheim on Aug. 7, 1947, in Reno, Nev. He died Feb. 4, 1992.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to Golden Circle Sunday School Class at the church, sent in care of the funeral home.
