Bottom Line

The Lawrence City Commission will receive a staff report concerning North Lawrence drainage issues.

Background

The Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission recommended a detailed study of North Lawrence drainage when it approved new regulations to develop land in the floodplain. But city officials aren’t sure how to pay for the study, which would cost at least $150,000.
