Heroic action

To the editor:

There can be no doubt about it, the character of a city is determined by how that city treats the least among them.

The Lawrence city commissioners acted heroically when they determined that not every little duck had to be in a row, including the slow wheels of process, before giving the lives of our homeless citizens top priority.

They are to be commended. Thousands upon thousands of Lawrence citizens can sleep more comfortably tonight knowing these homeless citizens will soon be in out of the cold.

It has been said, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of those to do it.”

Elections are soon at hand. Be an informed citizen. Take an active role. Learn which candidates support the city’s image. Learn who will protect the lives of those among us who are most desperately in need.
