Arts grants available

Applications are due March 10 for grants the Lawrence Arts Commission will award in visual, literary and performing arts.

Grants are evaluated on proposal clarity, budget accuracy, financial need, benefit to the community and value as an art project. Award amounts vary to a maximum of $1,000 — up from the previous limit of $500. Funding may be used for materials, publications, rent, education or other part-time needs.

Grant applications are reviewed by the Arts Commissioners, who recommend programs for funding to the Lawrence City Commission.

Applications are available at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.; Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.; and City Hall, in the first floor information rack and on the fourth floor in the city manager’s office, 6 E. Sixth St. Applications also can be downloaded from the Internet by visiting www.lawrenceks.org.

Applications must be delivered or mailed to arrive in the city manager’s office no later than 4:30 p.m. March 10.
