Smith-Pickett

Shannon Marie Smith and Joseph Brent Pickett, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Kerry Smith, Bogota, Tenn., and Elizabeth Kuhlenkamp, Memphis, Tenn. She is a graduate of Washburn Rural High School in Topeka. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Kansas University. She is pursuing a master’s degree in education at Avila University in Kansas City, Mo. She is a ballet instructor at the Performing Arts Academy in Olathe.

The future groom is the son of Eldon and Jeri Pickett, Lawrence. He is a Lawrence High School graduate. He earned a bachelor of science degree in education from KU. He is pursuing a master’s degree in science education. He is a science teacher at Eudora Middle School.

The couple plan an Aug. 2 wedding at Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka.

Porcarello-Miller

Barbara Roever and Harlan Miller, both of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son Warren Lee Miller to Noelle Suzanne Porcarello, both of Chandler, Ariz.

The future bride is the daughter of Janet Porcarello, Glendale, Ariz., and the late Patrick Porcarello. She is a graduate of Bourgade Catholic High School, Phoenix, and Loyola University, Chicago. She is a proposal manager with the aerospace sector of Honeywell International.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Frances Miller, a longtime Lawrence resident. He is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Kansas University. He is a sales manager with Fibre-Metal Products.

The couple plan a Dec. 31 wedding in Phoenix.

Marshall-Fant

R. Terry and Kathy Marshall, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter Hannah Marie Marshall to Jonathan Davis Fant, both of Nashville, Tenn.

The future bride is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School. She attended Kansas State University for two years. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee’s School of Nursing. She is employed in the intensive care unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

The future groom is the son of Claudia and Andrew P. Fant III, Greenville, S.C. He graduated from high school in Greenville. He attended the University of Tennessee for three years. He is pursuing a degree in plant and soil sciences at Middle Tennessee State University.

The couple plan a March 8 wedding in Knoxville, Tenn.

Tomlin-Blomquist

Diane Tomlin, Olathe, and Russ Tomlin, Denver, announce the engagement of their daughter Andee Tomlin to Scott Blomquist, both of Barrington, Ill.

The future bride is a 1995 Lawrence High School graduate. She graduated in 1999 from Kansas University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She is an account executive at the Chicago Tribune.

The future groom is the son of Margie and Roger Blomquist, Barrington, Ill. He is a 1994 Barrington High School graduate. He is a 1999 graduate of KU, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is a manufacturer’s representative for RMB Engineered Products.

The couple plan a July 19 wedding at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago.
