University Bridge Club announces winners of its Jan. 25 game, which was given by Carl and Isabel Schaake and Lois Liebert and Theda Pierson.

Blue winners were Henry Wigington, first; Alice Akins, second; Carl Schaake, third; Phil Hawley, fourth; and Don Whitaker, fifth. Pink winners were Mildred Hoffman, first; Bette Lukens, second; Carolyn Jordan, third; Marian Davis, fourth; and Lois Liebert, fifth.

The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 22 for its weekly game. Five pairs competed in the game directed by Don Brennaman. Don Daugherty and Harry Talley won the event.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club met Monday for its weekly game. The game attracted 11 pairs, was stratified and used a Howell movement. Virginia Seaver and Julia Brooks claimed first place in A. Olivier Urruty and Don Brennaman placed second in A and first in B and C. Dave Rhea and Christie Thomas took third place in A. Amit Chakrabarti and Curt Soloff finished fourth in A and second in B. Jerry Sloan and Patt Radford took fifth place in A. Bebe Huxtable and Ann Thompson placed third in B. Virginia Seaver directed the game.

Playing North-South, Kent McCullough and Larry Bodle finished first in A. Don Daugherty and Harry Talley placed second in A and first in B and C. Betty Collier and Shirley Reese placed third in A and second in B. Klee Zaricky and Shirlie Vaughn placed fourth in A and third in B. Chris Lane and Julia Brooks finished fifth in A.

Competing East-West, Jim Gunn and Harry Shaffer placed first in A, followed by Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman. Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks placed third in A and first in B and C. Harriet Olson and Artie Shaw finished fourth in A and second in B and C. Lois Clark and Phyllis Brownlee placed third in B. Eldon Herd and Glenna Herd finished fourth in B.
