Earth issues

To the editor:

With the 2004 presidential election heating up, much has been said about many things by members of both parties. Numerous accusations have been made by Democrats vs. Republicans, and vice versa.

Recently, during these processes for selection of a Democratic presidential nominee, Democratic hopefuls have taken the usual partisan “pot shots” at the Bush administration. But more importantly, these candidates have viciously attacked and pointed fingers at each other. During these heated exchanges, not one Democratic candidate, beyond “lip service,” has addressed the numerous environmental issues threatening our nation and the world.

It seems logical to this writer that these Democratic hopefuls, in lieu of “partisan nitpicking” and of “eating their own,” would vigorously confront the numerous attacks by the Bush administration upon Mother Earth!
