Michelle D. Traxler

? Mass of Christian Burial for Michelle D. Traxler, 17, Meriden, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Church, Meriden. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.

Ms. Traxler died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in a two-vehicle accident on Kansas Highway 4 in Meriden.

She was born July 25, 1986, in Topeka, the daughter of John R. and Dianne L. (Lambrecht) Traxler. She lived in the Meriden area all her life.

Ms. Traxler was a senior at Jefferson West High School in Meriden, where she was an honor student and member of the National Honor Society. She had participated in debate and forensics for four years and qualified for the state debate tournament three years. She was also a member of Future Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Teens as Teachers and St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She had planned to study chemical engineering at Kansas University and then attend law school at Washburn University.

Survivors include her parents, Meriden; three brothers, Erik Traxler, Aberdeen, S.D., and Matthew Traxler and Joshua Traxler, both of Meriden; paternal grandmother Wilma Traxler, Richmond Hills, Texas; and maternal grandparents Paul and Dolores Lambrecht, Grantville.

Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, where a parish prayer service will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to the Michelle D. Traxler Memorial Fund, to be designated later, sent in care of Barnett’s Meriden Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 331, Meriden 66512.
