Kaws’ rally falls short against Immaculata

? Perry-Lecompton’s girls basketball squad rallied from a 12-point deficit to force overtime, but Leavenworth Immaculata prevailed with a 44-43 win Friday night.

Hayley Wilson scored 12 to lead the Kaws in the losing effort.

“We fought back, we battled. It was disappointing, but hopefully we learned something out of it,” Kaws coach Kevin Bost said.

Megan Blosser added 10 points for Perry-Lecompton (0-2), which travels Monday to Pleasant Ridge.

Paola — Lauren Kracl and Michelle Deluna scored 15 points apiece in Eudora’s loss to Paola in the fifth-place game of the Paola Tournament.

Erin Kracl added 10 points, while Lauren Kracl had 12 boards for the Cardinals (2-2). Eudora plays host Tuesday to Wellsville.

Garnett — Tonganoxie built an 11-point lead after one quarter and led, 30-26, entering the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hang on. Chanute outscored the Chieftains, 19-10, in the fourth quarter.

Tonganoxie was led by Madison Weller with 12 points, Ali Pistora with 10 and Addie Heim with seven.

The Chieftains finished fourth in the Anderson County Invitational.

The score was tied at 16 at halftime, but Pleasant Ridge’s 17-point third quarter built a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

Taylor King, Julie Norman and Jessica Layden each added four points for the Bears (2-2).
