The University Bridge Club announces winners of its Dec. 6 game. Henry and Gini Wigington were hosts.

The blue winners were George Bocquin, first; Henry Wigington, second; Karmie Galle, third; Bud Lukens, fourth; Harold Riehm, fifth.

The pink winners were Iva Koleber, first; Wanda Kring, second; Carolyn Jordan, third; Gini Wigington, fourth; and Edna Galle, fifth.

  • The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 3. Nine pairs competed in a stratified game that used a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Chuck Hedges and Frances Vogel took first place in A. Bobbi McCorkle placed second in A and first in B and C. Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman took third in A and second in B.

  • The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 5. Ten and a half tables played a stratified game that used a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the play.

Playing North-South, Sally Taylor and Virginia Seaver finished in first place in A. Erna Holmes and Frances Vogel placed second in A. Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough took third in A. Don Brennaman and Patt Radford placed fourth in A. Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell took first in B and C. Don Daugherty placed second in B.

Competing East-West, Mary Beth Treece and Bobbi McCorkle claimed first place in A, B and C. Shirley Reese placed second in A and B. Wanda Durbin and Jean Otney placed third in A. Lois Clark and Cathy Blumenfeld took fourth in A, third in B and second in C. Nita Scales and Carol Ball placed fifth in A.

  • The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club met Monday. Ten tables competed in a stratified game that used a Mitchell movement. Virginia Seaver directed the game.

Playing North-South, Sally Taylor and Shirlie Vaughn claimed first place in A and B. Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks placed second in A and B and first in C. Dave Piro and Donna Johnson took third in A. Lois Clark and Harry Shaffer took fourth in A. Shirley Reese and Chris Lane took third in B.

Sitting East-West, Cathy Blumenfeld and Mike Blumenfeld claimed first place in A, B and C. Don Brennaman and Russell LaForce placed second in A, B and C. Virginia Seaver and Paul Heitzman took third in A. Vince Russo and Terry Tolar were fourth in A.
