High-powered UT throttles Wofford

? The 100-point mark is becoming a habit for the Texas Longhorns. The early season scoring bursts will be even more impressive if they can keep it up.

Brandon Mouton scored 20 points to lead six Longhorns in double figures as No. 8 Texas routed Wofford, 103-72, Thursday night. It was the second time Texas (4-0) topped 100 points this season.

“That pace is what we want to play,” Longhorns coach Rick Barnes said. “We got into attack mode.”

Kenny Taylor scored 13 points, Brad Buckman and Royal Ivey each had 11 and Sydmill Harris and Brian Boddicker each scored 10 for the Longhorns, who have won 19 straight at home.

The level of competition is about make a huge jump.

Texas next faces a tough two-week stretch with games against No. 7 Arizona and No. 6 Duke. The Longhorns play Arizona Tuesday in New York in the Jimmy V Classic.

“The intensity level is going to be very high,” Mouton said. “Both teams are going to go after each other.”

Adrien Borders led Wofford (2-3) with 20 points.
