Notes: For the third straight year, the Lions and Saints will kick off the season. … Aquinas took control of last year’s game with a dominating first half, eventually earning a 66-43 victory. … After the season-opening loss, Lawrence went on to win its next eight games and finished the season 15-5. … Aquinas finished 21-4, and was the Class 6A state runner-up. … Though the Saints lost standout Lauren Wenski, who’s now playing at Pepperdine, they still are loaded, led by Kansas State signee Carolyn McCullough. … LHS returns nearly everybody, too, notably seniors Josie Polk and Cherrale Ricks.
