Laughing matter?
To the editor:
On Aug. 16, a front-page photo in the Journal-World showed a group of Kansas University senior women, all of them laughing and each holding a brown paper bag containing a bottle. Three days later, on Aug. 19, a front-page photo showed a group of South Junior High School eighth-grade girls, all of them laughing and each trying to balance a book on her head. An interesting contrast. Booze or books. What’s it take to make you laugh?
