Pats paste Bears, 38-23

August 28, 2003

— The New England Patriots completed an unbeaten exhibition season, rallying to beat the Chicago Bears, 38-23, Wednesday night.

Running back Patrick Pass, wide receiver Dedric Ward and cornerback Leonard Myers all strengthened their bids to stay with the Patriots.

Pass had two touchdowns and a 59-yard kickoff return, Ward made five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown, and Myers returned a fumble 93 yards for a touchdown.

The Bears (1-3) had just one exhibition win for the seventh time in 12 years as they try to rebound from a 4-12 season after going 13-3 in 2001.
