Luejutta Newman

Mrs. Newman died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Henry County, Ala. She grew up in Alabama and moved to Kansas in 1946.

Mrs. Newman was a homemaker and member of Eagles Lodge No. 309.

She married Orvel Beer, who died March 26, 1966. She married William Newman, who died Jan. 6, 2003.

Survivors include a son, Charles O. Beer, Palm Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Tira Link, Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Janet Barrick, Lawrence; a sister, Mary Ellen Newman, Pasadena, Texas; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Two daughters died earlier, Rona Lynn Reed in 1998 and Debra Joyce Beer in 1973. A granddaughter, Katherine Mackenzie Link, died in 1993.
