Beverly Jo Voorhees

Ms. Voorhees died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1945, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of Cecil L. and Sarah (Faler) Miller. She attended Lawrence schools.

Ms. Voorhees had worked at the Wal-Mart in Geneva, Ala., for 17 years.

She married Roy Gregory Voorhees on Dec. 7, 1963, in New Jersey. They later divorced.

Survivors include her mother, Lawrence; a son, G. Michael Voorhees, and a daughter, Michelle Lynn Voorhees, both of Hartford; three sisters, Carole Cassity, Brenda Bissey and Cathy Wales, all of Lawrence; a brother, Cecil Miller Jr., Baldwin, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

A son, Scott Gregory Voorhees, died Feb. 9, 1992.
