Area artist to conduct in Lindsborg residency

Lecompton artist Linda Baranski will be the artist in residence Monday through Aug. 31 at Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg.

Baranski is a mosaic artist and abstract expressionist painter. She says her first love is mosaic art.

“As a mosaic artist, my life has been transformed into a world of broken china, shattered tile and found objects that re-create themselves anew,” she says. “Each sunrise, every cloud and flower become a puzzle to be reinvented.”

Baranski also paints with oils on joint compound.

She attended Washburn University from 1974-1979 and has studied under Robert Ault and Ellen Duncan. Her work has been featured in juried exhibitions and galleries.

She will offer a mosaic workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lindsborg studio. For more information, call (785) 227-2217 or e-mail raymer@redbarnstudio.org.
