Robert and Donna Bartholomew

Robert and Donna Bartholomew, Eudora, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at De Soto United Methodist Church Longfellow Hall, 8760 Kill Creek Road, De Soto.

Robert Bartholomew and Donna Kurtz were married Aug. 26, 1953, in De Soto.

Robert graduated from De Soto High School and attended Kansas University. He worked for Gulf Oil and retired from Shell Oil as a senior research lab technician.

Donna graduated from De Soto High School. She retired from the De Soto school district as a secretary.

The couple have three daughters, Debra Bartholomew, Eudora; Anita Steele, De Soto; and Patti Bowman, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and three grandchildren. The couple request no gifts.

Stewart

Robert and D. Annis Stewart will celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 31 at Centenary United Methodist Church, Fourth and Elm streets, in Lawrence.

Robert Stewart and D. Annis Trent were married Aug. 30, 1937, in Hutchinson.

They are both graduates of Hutchinson High School. Robert retired from insurance and real estate. D. Annis retired from A.L. Duckwalls. The couple served as foster parents for 27 children over 15 years.

Their children are Gary Stewart, Blue Springs, Mo., and Janice Hauk, Lawrence. They have four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The couple request no gifts.
