G. Gladys Baker

? Graveside services for G. Gladys Baker, 96, Leawood, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Baker died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003.

She was born Sept. 8, 1906, in Cosby, Mo., the daughter of William E. and Sarah (Kurth) McKee. She graduated from high school in Savannah, Mo., and received teacher’s training at the University of Missouri.

Mrs. Baker taught school in Savannah. She moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1941. She and her husband formed Jack L. Baker Cos., a steam-cleaning and sand-blasting operation, in 1951. She served as vice president until they retired in 1970.

She married Jack L. Baker on Aug. 22, 1931, in St. Joseph, Mo. He died earlier.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Baker Lilla, Overland Park, J. Suzanne Baker Hampton, formerly of Lawrence, and Sharon Baker Dunaway; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
