Twin brothers turning 90

? After 90 years, twins Roy and Ray Medbery still are arguing about who is better looking.

“They say the older we get, the more we look alike. It’s about time he starts to look better,” Roy Medbery said.

“I’m better looking, of course,” said Ray on Saturday at the twins’ 90th birthday party.

Roy was born at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 5, 1913. Ray was born at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 6, 1913. They grew up on their parents’ farm in Greeley County, Neb.

Ray farmed and was in the Army during World War II.

Roy moved to Colorado to work in the railroad business. The twins still saw each other almost every week when they lived 50 miles apart.

The twins agreed that getting to 90 was certainly a surprise. Neither expected to make it this long.

“I hope I’m not around for 100,” Ray said. “I’m waiting for the Lord. When he finds my number, that’s it.”
