Bob Havens

? Mass of Christian Burial for Bob Havens, 68, Overland Park, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Overland Park. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Havens died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003.

He was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Pittsburg, the son of Kenneth and Mary Havens. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Pittsburg and received a bachelor of arts degree in business in 1956 from Pittsburg State University, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He spent most of his working life in Overland Park.

Mr. Havens was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served in the 1st Infantry Armor Tank Division. He recently retired as the owner of a medical and dental business consulting practice, where he had worked for 35 years.

He married Margaret Veltri on Aug. 4, 1956. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Ken, Jeff, Greg and John, all of Overland Park; a sister, Diane Smith, Overland Park; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel in Overland Park, where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
