Randall E. Daniels

Memorial services for Randall E. Daniels, 67, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lawrence Evangelical Friends Church.

Mr. Daniels died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 12, 1936, in Vichy, Mo., the son of Floyd Homer and Dale Cleola (Ragan) Daniels. He attended school in Vichy and moved to Lawrence in 1969 from Rolla, Mo.

Mr. Daniels owned and operated Randy’s Tree Service until he retired in 1989. He also had worked for Lawrence Paper Co., All Star Dairy, Lawrence Freight Lines and picked up old appliances around town. He was known to some as the Junkman.

He married Janet L. Craig on Feb. 15, 1973, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Homer Poor, Missouri, and Bobby and Bill, both of Baldwin; seven daughters, Elaine Nicholson, Kidder, Mo., Debra Eads, St. James, Mo., Wendy Jenkins and LaWanda Daniels, both of Lawrence; Randie Rusmisel, Mount Solon, Va., and Kaye Prochnow, Pomona; a brother, Leonard, Casa Grande, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Cremation will follow visitation.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home.
