Injury accident

  • A Lawrence couple were injured at 5:33 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 24 near its junction with Kansas Highway 32, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. They were identified as Martha S. Lathrom and Everett D. Lathrom, both 59. Martha Lathrom was admitted to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, but her condition was not disclosed. Everett Lathrom was treated at LMH and released.

Martha Lathrom was driving a 2002 Toyota east on U.S. 24 when it collided with a 1996 Pontiac driven by Ryan S. Drews, 19, Leavenworth. Drews was driving west when her car went off the edge of roadway.
