INDEPENDENCE, KAN. ? Capital murder charges were filed Friday against two men in connection with the June 13 deaths of Caney residents Samuel Yanofsky, 22, and April Melholland, 21.

Nathaniel Hill, 22, is now charged with one count of capital murder, one count of first-degree murder and one count of rape. Sylvester Lynn Jones, 20, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of rape.

Both defendants are Montgomery County residents.
