Shelly and Kris Davenport

Shelly Shores, Lecompton, and Kris Davenport, Lawrence, were married April 26, 2003, at First Christian Church in Lawrence with Randy Beeman officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William and Sandra Shores, Lecompton. The groom is the son of David and Teri Davenport, Lawrence.

Matron of honor was Lisa Zemites. Best man was Jason Njoroge. Bridesmaids were Lana Scroggs and Keri Davenport. Groomsmen were Tim Bruns and Will Ekpo. Ushers were Mike Zemites and Justin Scroggs. Flower girls were Michayla Zemites and Grayson Rodriguez. Ring bearer was John William Zemites.

A reception was at the Union Pacific Depot.

The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School. She will be transferring from Johnson County Community College to Rock Valley Community College, Rockford, Ill.

The groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He also will be transferring from Johnson County Community College to Rock Valley Community College. He is employed by the Quality Inn in Lawrence.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Jon and Nikki King

Nikki Rhea and Jon King, both of Lawrence, were married June 14, 2003, at Danforth Chapel on the Kansas University campus.

Matron of honor was Michaela Schropp. Jennifer Chapman was bridesmaid. Vaiden White was flower girl. Greg Martin was best man. Groomsmen were Dan Dunbar and Judson King. Emmet Flood was ring bearer. Kathy Kennedy was organist. Todd Crenshaw was guitarist and Michaela Schropp was vocalist.

A reception was at the Lawrence Arts Center.

The bride is a graduate of Salina High School South and Kansas University. She is the executive director of Health Care Access Inc.

The groom is a graduate of Thomas Moore Prep High School, Fort Hays State University and Kansas University school of law. He is a vice president with Commerce Trust Company. He manages the Lawrence office.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Chrissy and Justin Mayer

Chrissy McClure and Justin Mayer, both of Lawrence, were married June 7, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Jim Dunkin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Angie McClure, Lecompton. The groom is the son of David and Regina Mayer, Wetmore.

Maid of honor was Julie Kellogg. Best man was Harper Snyder. Bridesmaids were Nikki McClure, Kelly Zimmerman and Hailey Uphaus. Groomsmen were Clay Mayer, Chad Wells and Chad Brading.

Ushers were Matt McClure, Sam Warren, Casey McLenon, Brian White, Chuck Minner and Troy Slimmer. Candle lighters were Allison Koonce and Kim Karstetter. Guest book attendant was Calli Turner. Flower girl was Lauren Miller. Ring bearer was Alex Knoblauch.

The bride is a graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School and Emporia State University. She is employed by DCCCA Inc., Lawrence.

The groom is a graduate of Wetmore High School and Emporia State University. He is employed at Eudora High School.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Ware-DeWolfe

Oliver and Alexandria DeWolfe

Alexandria Ware and Oliver Mangum DeWolfe, both of Santa Barbara, Calif., were married June 8, 2003, at the Robert Treat Paine Estate in Waltham, Mass., with Christine Bettis officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Paula and James Ware, Oskaloosa. The groom is the son of Jean DeWolfe, Enfield, Conn., and Thomas DeWolfe, Greenport, N.Y.

The bride is a graduate of Wellesley College. She plans to become a doctoral candidate in Near Eastern studies at Johns Hopkins University in September.

The groom is a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Santa Barbara, Calif. He plans to become a research staff member at Princeton University in September.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Scotland.
