Gerald Dale Moore

? Services for Gerald Dale Moore, 73, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Vinland Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Edgerton Cemetery.

Mr. Moore died Monday, April 28, 2003, at his home in rural Baldwin.

He was born March 1, 1930, on a farm near Baldwin, the son of Estel Byard and Ada Francis (Edwards) Moore. He attended Willow Springs Rural School and Baldwin City High School.

Mr. Moore was a farmer and raised Beefmaster cattle. He had attended Vinland United Methodist Church since 1968. He served on several boards and committees in the Vinland area, including Vinland Fair Assn. for 14 years, Rural Water District No. 4 board for five years, and various positions on the church board and committees. He was a member of Gideons International for five years and served as treasurer.

He married Virginia Rose Weeks in 1949. They later divorced. He married Dollie Jean DeMersseman on Dec. 1, 1967. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include five daughters, Jeralyn Rose Lewis, Meriden, Julie Ellyn Gordon, Denver, Joyce Elaine Day, Ozawkie, Loretta Kay DeMersseman Zachary, Lawrence, and Denise Lynn DeMersseman Woltje, Missouri City, Texas; three sons, John Burk Moore, El Dorado, Daniel Eugene DeMersseman, Parsons, and Randall Dean DeMersseman, Baldwin; a brother, Max B.; two sisters, Norma June Moore Allis and Ada Madalyn Moore Collins; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Three grandsons, Nicholas Dale Moore, Patrick Wayne Zachary and Robert Dale Reusch, died earlier.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
