America’s favorite 300-pound celebrity interviewer returns for a third season of “Primetime Glick” (9:30 p.m., Comedy Central). Martin Short’s peculiar creation shares mangled insights and inappropriate observations with screen idol Brendan Fraser and rapper Ice Cube.

Sitting down with Martin Short in a fat suit presents a delicate task. Just how much can a celebrity play along with Glick without deviating from his or her own Hollywood persona? Fraser remains unflappable as Glick pummels him with Jelly Beans and asks him how badly Billy Bob behaved during the shooting of “Gods and Monsters Ball.”

Ice Cube maintains a steely facade as the clueless Glick dances around his ignorance of his guest’s Compton background. The fact that Glick continually refers to him as Vanilla Ice doesn’t sit too well, either. Eventually, Cube ends the interview in an apparently angry snit. It’s all a lark, of course, but it makes you wonder who is the bigger put-on, the scatterbrained Jiminy or the “dangerous” Cube.

Other amusing stints include two HBO spoofs. Four harem girls discuss their raunchy secrets in an ad for a show called “Sex & the Saudis.” Short does a dead-on impression of actor Larry David starring as disgraced Enron big-shot Kenneth Lay in an ad for a movie called “Curb Your Capitalism.” As usual, the biggest problem with “Primetime Glick” is that, at a half-hour, it’s too darn short.

• Originally scheduled to debut last month, the new talk show “Topic A with Tina Brown” (8 p.m., CNBC) was postponed due to war coverage. The first show’s scheduled guests include media moguls Barry Diller and Conrad Black, network executive Howard Stinger and Jordan’s Queen Noor. Brown can certainly put together a panel of heavyweights. It’s too bad this show will only air once every three months.
