KU event focuses on legal decisions
A panel of experts will discuss the role of social science research in legal decision-making during an event today at Kansas University.
The event, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kansas Room of the Kansas Union, will focus on the way judges use academic research in writing legal opinions.
Presenters include Robert Gernon, a Kansas Supreme Court justice; Milton Diamond, professor of anatomy and reproductive biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and director of the Pacific Center for Sex and Society; and Charlene Muehlenhard, professor of psychology and women’s studies at KU.
The event is organized by the KU Graduate School.
Diamond also will present a brown bag workshop on bioethics and his research from noon to 1:30 p.m. today in Alcove E of the Kansas Union.
