Girl Scouts of Kaw Valley Council honored outstanding achievements by volunteers at its annual meeting April 5 in Topeka. Ellyn Owen, Baldwin, received the Thanks Badge II, the highest award in which an adult volunteer is nominated by peers. The Thanks Badge II recognizes an adult member who already has received the Thanks Badge and has continued to contribute in extraordinary ways that benefit the council. Owen is a certified Instructor of Trainers for Girl Scouts of Kaw Valley Council.

Barb Goff, Baldwin, and Jeannie McClure and Liz Phillips, both of Lawrence, received appreciation pins. Honor pins were given to Robin Robertson, Lori Hanson and Jill Elmers, of Lawrence, and Jean Jamison, Eudora.
