Don Daugherty and Harry Talley claimed first place in A and B. Olivier Urruty and Dan Osman finished second. Frances Vogel and Dorothy Arth placed third in A and second in B. Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges took fourth place. Artie Shaw and Harriet Olson finished third in B. Bob Anderson and Betty Spalsbury finished first in C. Emily Foster and Al Ballard took second in C.¢

Playing North-South, Harry Shaffer and Jiambo Zhang claimed first place in A and B. Ilse Steinhardt and Bebe Huxtable finished second in B and C and first in A. Sally Taylor and Shirley Vaughn took third in A and B. Jerry Sloan and Bill Schutzel took fourth place. Yvonne Hedges and Betty Collier finished fifth.
Sitting East-West, Gary Joyce and Mary Joyce finished in first in A, B and C. Mike Blumenfeld and Cathy Blumenfeld finished second in A, B and C. Freda Gilmore and Bruce McKeithan took third place. Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks placed fourth. Ed Howard and John Fittell came in fifth.¢

Sue Schmidt, Baldwin, and Dr. Janet Broers, Lawrence, of the Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, attended the annual Phi State convention April 4-6 in Great Bend. The theme was "Changing for the Future."
During the past year, the Omicron Chapter in Douglas County collected new or gently used children's books that were given to local organizations to promote children's literacy. The chapter also sponsored a hole for the Big Brothers-Big Sisters "Chili Golf Classic" in February.
The next meeting of the Omicron chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Douglas County Extension Office. Bruce Chladny, Douglas County horticulture agent, will present information on the Extension Master Gardener program.
